Dr Geoff Brighty is Founder and MD of sustainability consultancy Environmental Sustainability Associates Ltd. He is a published research scientist and has had a career spanning 30 years in the environmental protection and regulation sector with the Environment Agency and its predecessors. From 2014 to 2020, he was Technical Director at the UK’s first plastic pollution charity, Plastic Oceans UK, and was special advisor to its film A Plastic Ocean. As well as working on plastics and waste management, Geoff and his team lead projects and international programmes on environmental issues including flooding, water quality and climate change adaptation. He is a Non-Executive Director at the pioneering waste plastic recycler, ReNewELP, and is a Trustee of the Rivers Trust, and the Norfolk Rivers Trust. Geoff lives in Norfolk, UK.
